You are so right, it’s very important to have things in the diary other than hospital appointments! It sounds like you are further ahead on the journey than I am. Back in the spring I impulsively bought theatre tickets for The Rocky Horror Show and also Hairspray and actually got to them both recently - I found going to a matinee much more manageable than an evening show.

After so many months surviving at home it was very emotional to be in an audience with the sole purpose of enjoyment!

Do keep on writing Charles, you are an inspiration!

I was the Mikado - in the OHS performance 35 years ago!! Not because I had the best singing voice - but I had the loudest singing voice! And of course was the tallest girl! I wonder if you came to see that performance? You keep amazing me with this blog......... sometimes I find it hard to read....... but I can feel the joy and pride you have when talking about your family and what together you have achieved. I wonder who came to visit you??? PS I had a nightmare yesterday - took my eldest back to Oxford and stupidly thought I could get petrol there as it would not be as mad as London - but alas that was not to happen so had to abandon my car which had just enough to get back - however I used 10 miles looking for petrol (the car had already driven my son to Durham and back last weekend when we managed to fill up) - outside my mum's house and get the train back to London!! Crazy! I hope you have enough petrol????

Charlie - did you know that D G Elvin worked on the animated feature “Dick Deadeye”? An amalgam of G&S that I think you’d enjoy irrespective of the family involvement. It was funny and ahem..bawdy as I recall. As they say in Norway “Skjekk det ut” 😎 Let us Zoom soon cousin 💪❤️

Life is full of small coincidences! Elli and I were watching a DVD of Toppsy Turvy last night! If it passed you by is a :-

“Witty and entertaining dramatisation of the story of the famous partnership between lyricist William Gilbert and composer Arthur Sullivan. With a wealth of authentic Victorian detail, this account of the lives of the musical duo concentrates on the good-natured antagonism between the two creative geniuses, focusing on the turning point on their road to fame and riches - the production of `The Mikado'.”

Won a couple of academy awards and contains sumptuous scenes from The Mikado.

Would you like me to get the DVD round to you.

Fight on.
